St. Brendan the Navigator Parish launched its Eucharistic Revival on Sunday, June 11, 2023, the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ.
EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL UPDATE October 2023
In St. Brendan’s Parish plan for Eucharistic Revival, our first goal for “Eucharist Celebrated” was launched in October with our trainings of Sacristans, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and Lectors. On October 1st and 15th we had approximately 50 and 40 attendees, respectively, to the trainings led by our clergy—Fr. Anthanasius, Fr. Divine and Deacon Bob. The gatherings took place at Our Lady of Good Hope and not only were well attended but Fr. Anthanasius was very pleased with the participation, engagement, and questions from all our liturgical volunteers. Manuals were distributed and are available for those who could not attend (just call the office and we’ll make sure your Sacristy will have one there for you.) A follow-up time for those who could not attend, as well as additional gatherings for ongoing formation are being explored.
In the next few weeks we will be highlighting excerpts from the training manuals that the Eucharistic Revival team, using diocese guidelines, collaborated with Father Divine on. It is hoped that these trainings provided volunteers with input for increased reverence and engagement for their respective liturgical roles, infusing them with insight that will lead them beyond the “task aspect” of their roles.
Stay tuned for more to come in our Eucharistic Revival at St. Brendan. Our Advent thoughts are to offer teachings and catechesis on the Holy Mass. Plus, parishioners—please be thinking about your own Eucharistic experiences as we will be asking you to share your witness of Our Lord’s Real Presence in months to come.
